Irresponsible press!

On 1-19-2009 a Huffington post blogger had published an absolutely false and venomous opinion piece disguised as news. His name is David Brees and the poor boy obviously has a stick up his ass about a subject that he does not even remotely understand.

Folks this is what is wrong with politics today. I tried to find a link where I could offer my opinion on this but to no avail. the Huffington Post and David Brees are not interested in what other people think, and that is their right, so I found an address for Mr. Brees so that if you would like to drop him a note, feel free to do so (NOTHING ILLEGAL).

BREAKING: Bush Pardons Osama bin Laden
WASHINGTON, DC: In a stunning late-hour development, President George W. Bush has granted Osama bin Laden a pardon for the murder of more than 2,700 Americans in the fall of 2001.

“This kinda came out of nowhere,” said a White House aide who requested anonymity. “I wouldn’t have put bin Laden on the short list myself. On the other hand, maybe this is the president’s way of finding closure. Because ... y’know ... he wasn’t actually able to kill bin Laden, or capture him, or even keep him from making all those (expletive) videos. I mean, jeez, let’s face it: Osama bin Laden is basically a one-man Netflix of cave movies.”

The aide paused, then went on to say, “Can you believe this dude (Bush) was actually president for eight (expletive) years? What were we thinking? Seriously, what the (expletive) were we thinking?”

The aide began weeping quietly. “May God have mercy on me for my role in the unfathomable travesty that was the Bush administration.”

Conservative columnist William Kristol insisted the pardon made sense.

“George W. Bush is a brilliant strategist. I’m sure he has a good reason for this pardon. I’ll figure it out.”

Kristol sucked his thumb for a few minutes, lost in thought. He was then distracted by a brightly colored piece of string.

A passerby, told of the bin Laden pardon, offered a possible explanation:

“Maybe Bush is trying to smoke him out. Wasn’t that the plan?”

Relax, this was a piece of satire. And I think it was pretty obvious that he was joking, no one would believe that Bush pardoned Bin Ladin.

Further, the Huffington Post does have a section where you can leave comments. You have to register though in order to do so, just like on IB. In fact, most HP posts have dozens, if not hundreds, of comments underneath

Some people cannot recognize humor. Bugga, you must be one of those people.
The idea that Bush would pardon Laden is hilarious.
Part of the reason for the humor is that pardons are a political tool. If Congress were to impeach anyone other than the president, the president can just turn around and pardon them. Same thing for Justice Department criminal probes.
People from a different party than the president will see a list of pardoned individuals and fume. Humor is a way of venting.

Bugga, you need to put Onions on top of you sometimes. Before the buns, I mean. Forget about the smell it leaves in the mouth.
